Crassula ovata 'Gollum' (Gollum Jade) - A small shrubby succulent to 2 to 3 feet tall by 1 to 2 feet wide with interesting tubular leaves that have a reddish tint.
The jade plant is a popular succulent houseplant with fleshy, oval leaves and thick, woody stems that resemble tiny tree trunks. With just a bit of care, it can grow to be between 3 and 6 feet tall, but it does so slowly, gaining about 2 inches per year.
Allow the soil to dry out slightly before watering again. Being a succulent, Crassula ovata can go a long time without water - but it grows best with water when growing. Feed with a balanced liquid feed 2 or 3 times during the growing season from late spring to late summer.
What is this? Gollum Jade plants can be a wonderful indoor plant, and can live a long life, they can live up to 100yrs or more, but only if you take the time to care for them the right way. The 'Gollum' Jade can be grown outdoors, but most of the time they're grown indoors.
Water gollum jade once every 2 to 3 weeks. Allow the soil dry out between watering. Gollum jade prefer 4 hours of direct sunlight and grow well at typical room temperature between 55F-80F. Plant gollum jade in well draining succulent and cacti soil to prevent root rot.
While Gollum Jade is considered to be a symbol of good luck, you don't need luck in taking care of them, as they don't require much effort and attention just to keep them alive and pretty.
